HI HI! THIS IS MY FISH PAGE :D

My baby girl, Candy the Betta fish

My baby girl, Candy the Betta fish.

You found my fish site! (Yay, that means the link worked.) Hopefully you can see the images, I've been keeping aquatic life pretty recently, i've only started in July, 2025 after i finally moved into my own apartment. I was ORIGINALLY going to get a hamster but well, after some consideration and because hamsters have a tendancy to kick their stuff out of their cage, i just settled for something small and something niche. So i started with shrimp! Specifically, Neocaradina shrimp. And man lemme tell you, i fell in LOVE.
They're real heckin' cool and come in crazy bright colours, or even in patterns, but thats not the coolest part, see neocaradina's are hardy little guys that help to keep the nitrate cycle in your tank groovin' and keep it nice stable and clean in geneal, which is great because i can be pretty forgetful to clean my tanks T-T. So once i got used to keeping a stable tank and looking after shrimp, i finally got some fish! Guppies to be sepcific, then i got a Betta who i call Candy- and with her, came yet ANOTHER tank.
So far, i have Four Aquariums! Three of them keep fish, ones just a spare for when my guppies or cory's decide to they wanna increase the tank population. And i have two no filter jars that i use to cultivate live feed to help keep my fishies stimulated and eating the good grub. (whoo!)
I WAS saving my fourth tank for some kilifish or to try my hand at cold water fish for once, but then i found out my cory laid some eggs which prompted me to panic aquascape and then dunk my shrimp into my new 30 liter tank along with the cory eggs, because apparently, shrimp are better Cory parents then Corydoras would EVER be.

Anyway, enough yapping' i'll save it for a blog or something when i learn more HTML. Anyway, FISH!

20/O3/2026 THE GUPPY TANK UPGRADES!!11!

Hi hi hi! fresh update super duper fresh, like, straight outta the fish shop fresh- THE GUPPY TANK NOW HAS A PROPER LIGHT!!
For awhile it was REALLY bugging me and i didn't really the funds at the time but now i do so i spent it
on a much better LED light that can also turn into blue light!! and it's adjustable brightness levels wise
so i can make sure my fishies are getting juuussst the right amount of light each day. It's often advise that
your tanks always needs AT LEAST 8 hours of light and no one likes to live in the dark
(well...unless its a nocturnal fish then yeah probably a better idea to not have a light).

BUT aside from that, i also went a redecorated the bottom and put some new plant life there!! because my light was so tiny, alot of plant life
couldn't actually GROW. and would often die and get eaten by the snails as a result.

But already things seem to be improving! A few of the plants are already now upright and at starting to stretch out (yipeee!) so heres hoping it
  continues!

Also i found more baby shrimps! they're so TINY and absolutely EVERYWHERE i adore them so much, its a shame i can't get a good enough picture but i'm
going to see if i can bring my old camera to life and see if that does them any justice, it'd be a crime to hide these beautiful babies away from the world!!

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE! (two days late but still an update!!) 11/03/26

BABY SHRIMP HAVE APPEARED!

So imagine this right? It's 2am, you've just gotten home from a pretty nasty shift at work, You're tired, you reek of work stink, you forgot to do food shopping again so you can't have a late night snackie and it's too late to wind down and do anything because you're back on the clock again in like, 8 hours. So you flick on your aquarium lights and just throw yourself into bed and stare at these little bundles of joy who live in absolute whimsy and luxury and never need to worry about stupid concepts like "rent" or "savings" or "doing the dishes" etc etc.

You're winding down and go to call it a night, reaching over to hit the lights but you stop. You're eyes catched quick movement that you don't recongnise initially. You've observed this tank time and time and time again you know EXACTLY how each little critter moves in there and that was completely out of the ordinary. So you crouch down, quickly scanning the tank, thinking "hey what was that? Did a stray guppie get in there somehow?" "did those corydora eggs i place in there finally hatch?" and of course: "Oh god, please don't tell me i have a new potential bacteria thingie i need to research for an hour to ensure its safe" but NO! NO! BEHOLD! MY EYES WIDENED MY HEART HALTED AS I FINALLY SAW THE LITTLE THING THAT MADE THE MOVEMENT, IT WAS- LADIES AND GENTLEMEN-:

Two tiny baby shrimp on a rock

BABY SHRIMP!!!!!!!!!!! you have NO idea how long i've been trying to get my little colony to reproduce, i was over the MOON and started weeping (i know, pretty embarrassing right?) after i calmed down i very happily shared the news with some friends who were confused, but supportive-ish of this mini victory of mine. For some reason shrimp have been my main challange in maintaining and given such a gritty week they were like a blessing from god or fate or whatever, i don't care, i'm always happy to see new life in these tanks that i've curated for these little guys.

i've brought some more fish food specifically for baby shrimp in the meantime and have found out who's the father, which was pretty easy it was the only blue velvet shrimp i had in my tank and the babies look JUST like him. And he's been busy two because so far i have found two female brown shrimp that now have eggs so this is really exciting!!!11!! So for now i won't put any other critters in this tank at LEAST until the mama's have spawned all these lil shrimpies and they're at a reasonable size. So yeah, its finally taken off!!!!!!!! yay!!!

ADDITIONAL NOTE. I have just discovered yet ANOTHER mama shrimp in the tank!!! i am going to cry again!!! more babies!!! yay!!!!!!

My Cory, Cory. and co! Cory! My first ever tank! Oh memories.. One of my first ever shrimp, i called him Mando, aka purple. I eventually got a proper shelf for my fish so i wouldn't have to worry about my desktop imploding while i was asleep

Cool fish, but take me back please!
